What stays private

Which parts of an order are encrypted, which are public, and who can read what.

An order on Midway has six private terms. Your browser encrypts them to the Arcium MXE, a network of nodes that computes on encrypted data, before the order leaves your device. No single node, and no Midway server, ever sees them in the clear.

Sealed#

  • Side: buy or sell
  • Size
  • Limit
  • Minimum fill
  • Expiry
  • Session: regular hours or around the clock

Public#

  • Your wallet and the market
  • The order's identity and the time it was submitted
  • Which of the book's sixteen positions are taken
  • Your vault balances and deposits
  • Every fill: quantity, price, slot, and the two wallets

Who reads what#

  • The matching network computes on the encrypted terms; it publishes only fills, admissions and removals.
  • You can read your order's remaining size through an encrypted computation whose answer only the key your browser created for the order can decrypt.
  • Midway's server stores the ciphertext of your submission and the public chain record. It has no key to decrypt either.
